'Analysis of a news story Essay\r'

'The word that I am analysing shows how a news make-up presents a storey. The member I am studying is just about ‘The War on Terror’ the article, existence about a man named Kerim garrulous, whom was caught, whilst at a lower place a routine security check, with a gun in his wash knockout was published in The cheerfulness paper. Kerim talky is acceptd to have been planning on hi-jacking the race air-born from Sweden to England, Stanstead. The sunlight paper is a tabloid, which is to a greater extent suited to mickle who esteem information ‘dramatic’ and ‘over-exaggerated stories.\r\n‘ The Sun is aimed at people who prefer ‘easier admiting. ‘ By this I lowly that the papers stories are short, too the take and simple. The newsprint has sensational stories, which attract contri only ifors amidst the age group of 16-30. The tabloid uses fire pictures and eye catching headlines. excessively by using emotive manner of speaking, it grabs the readers’ attention. The headline consists of the deed ‘War on Terror,’ as the reader I was attracted to this article immediately as I wanted to debate what it is about.\r\nThe sub-heading reads, ‘ saying of Jet Hi-jack Thug’ this is where the story begins. A good publisher knows that you should never range your audience what the piece of writing is about, in the headings because if you do then they may non want to continue reading your story. The showtime sub-heading is apply to briefly tell the reader of what is handout on. The following sub-heading leads you onto more information, but still doesn’t give the story up. ‘Violent Crook Obsessed by Weapons. ‘\r\nBy using emotive language such as; crook, obsessed and thug, the readers construct a self image of Kerim Chatty as being tied(p) more of a criminal and horrid man, this is what the tabloid paper wants you to do. The first section of the article is based on the hi-jacker and what he had do and in the main picture it shows the look of the crime. The picture has a lot going on it; you bottom of the inning see the hi-jacker with his weapon, locomote towards the armed police who appear get for any sudden action from the hi-jacker.\r\nAlso in the background of the picture you can see the hi-jacked plane, from a leading lodge Ryannair. There is a smaller fable below with a clear looking at of Chatty; this is put there so the readers can see who the hi-jacker is. Analysing the Picture If I saw the picture of the man without cognise he had committed an offence, I wouldn’t look at him as though he was a ‘thug’ or ‘crook’ instead Id see him as being a perfectly approach pattern guy, who could of maybe been in the paper having been knobbed in a racist attack.. on a lower floor the picture of Chatty is a legend stating: ‘Gangster….\r\nKerim Chatty’ Once you see th is you start to imagine an evil boldness to him and then turn against him. Emotive lecture & Formal Language The paper immediately wants the reader to turn against Kerim, even before they manage to read the full article, so emotive language is used to slip in words such as Crook, Thug, Violent, Obsessed and Gangster to put up the stories features. The Sun uses informal language such as; Cops and Common Nuts! The more informal the English is the easier the article is to read and understand.\r\n‘Simple Reading’ is what I believe The Sun is known well for. abbreviation: The presentation of the story is smart and The Sun did very well to express and explain the story. It has done well on relation back the story, using typical tabloid tools. I don’t think Kerim Chatty, would really appreciate how The Sun have rundle about him and no doubt most of it may not be true. The Sun is a good tabloid newspaper but the stories are exaggerated in a big way, although the exaggeration does pick out excitement to the story, Kerim probably wouldn’t enjoy reading it.\r\n'
